WHAT TO DO IN PROBLEMS

What to do with a central heating boiler?
The water and / or the house does not get warm. Before you call the emergency service, you must check the following yourself:
- Whether the plug of the boiler is plugged in, no fuses are broken and the earth leakage switch is in the correct position;
- if there is sufficient water pressure on the installation (if necessary, top up the boiler);
- if there is too much air in the installation (bleed if necessary);
- Whether the room thermostat is in the correct position;
- Whether the radiator valves are open;
- Whether the gas tap is open.

If you have checked these points and the boiler still does not work / the water and the house is not, you can contact us directly (if this is included in your lease) with the maintenance company of the central heating boiler. See sticker on the installation. Otherwise you can contact us via huurder@vgbr.nl

What to do in case of a power failure?
In the event of a power failure, please first check whether a device (coffee maker, washing machines, tumble driers are often the culprits) is the cause of the malfunction. This can be tested by first switching off all devices connected to the respective group by removing the plug from the wall socket and then reconnecting the devices one at a time. If the power fails again when a device is connected, the device in question is the cause of the fault. When an electric doorbell no longer functions, usually the contact in the doorbell is rusted, wiring loose or battery (s) empty. You can remedy this by cleaning the contact again, fixing the wiring, replacing the battery (s) or possibly installing a new printer.

-> If you can not find a cause, call the national fault number: 0800-9009 (free).
If you have checked these items and it concerns a malfunction that does not occur in your postcode area, you can contact the Rotterdam Real Estate Management (VGBR).

You smell a gas smell?
If you smell gas in the home, you should extinguish any fire as soon as possible (gas stove, cigarette, etc.), close the main tap (in the meter cupboard), open doors and windows, do not switch on or off electric lighting or appliances ( these can give sparks) and leave the house.

-> If you can not find a cause, call the national fault number: 0800-9009 (free).
(You can also directly contact network manager in your area, see sticker meter box)

What to do with water leaks?
Leaks at the cistern of the toilet and at toilet bowls is usually caused by old rubbers. You must replace these rubbers yourself. The same applies if a faucet is leaking. You must first replace any rubbers yourself. Leakage in cellars usually involves no leakage, but condensation from the pipes (especially in the summer months). In this case you do well to ventilate the room as much as possible. If there is a leak in or for the water meter, you can directly contact the water company in your area, see sticker meter box.
Water damage is covered in most cases under your home contents insurance, report this as soon as possible to your insurer.

! Important: If you have complaints that lead to or can lead to damage, then in the meantime, until someone arrives to remedy the complaint, you will have to take temporary measures to prevent consequential damage.
